You heard it here first!

As all die hard General Hospital fans know, the countdown has begun leading up to GH’s 50th anniversary on April 1st. Storylines have been put into play for months now bringing back the legends and favorites of the decades – Finola Hughes, Tristan Rogers, Jack Wagner, Rick Springfield, Ian Buchanan, Lynn Herring, Robin Mattson and Kristina Wagner – with most recent veterans, Kin Shriner, Jackie Zeman and Rachel Ames who started with the show in 1964, also signing on. This week, in fact, we have the reunion of soap’s favorite couple, Luke and Laura, as Genie Francis starts her return tour of duty.

But along with this cavalcade of stars, comes some equally creative storylines, not the least of which now involves the illustrious Quartermaine family and the battle for ELQ. With Tracy [Jane Elliot] and AJ [Sean Kanan] battling it out for control of the company, the answer to the heir apparent appears to lie with the daughter of the maniacal genius Franco [James Franco], twin brother to Jason Morgan [Steve Burton], both sons of now deceased Alan Quartermaine.

With the discovery of Franco’s daughter, can Franco be far behind? When we last saw him, he was presumed dead in a fire in his art studio, but no body was recovered. Does this mean James Franco will be back “from the dead”?

I caught up with James Franco during the press tour for Oz The Great and Powerful and in this exclusive, asked him that very question – Will he be returning to GH as part of the 50th anniversary and the current ELQ/Quartermaine storyline?

“I’d like to. I’d really like to. Nobody’s asked me yet. The producer I worked with, Jill Phelps, is now at B&B or Y&R, or something like that. [laughing] Steve Burton moved, too, didn’t he? Yea, they’re both there. But, nobody’s asked.”
